Motor Insurance

First: Unified Insurance (Mandatory and Third-Party Liability)
This coverage is mandatory by law for anyone who owns a vehicle that operates on the road. It covers the liability of the insured and the vehicle’s driver toward third parties for any bodily injuries or material damages caused by the insured vehicle.

Second: Comprehensive Insurance (Supplementary)
This is optional insurance based on an agreement between the insured and the insurance company. It covers material damages to the insured vehicle itself resulting from a traffic accident or collision.

Coverage Includes:

Bodily Injuries:
Compensation for bodily injuries is provided in accordance with the provisions and articles of the Insurance Law No. (20) of 2005 and its related regulations.

Third-Party Property Damage Coverage:
Under this policy, the company is obligated to compensate the third party for material damages resulting from the legal liability of the insured, due to a road accident covered under the insurance policy.

The company's liability for compensation is valid during the insurance coverage period and applies to all third-party property damage resulting from a single accident, up to the amount stated in the insurance certificate. Any amount exceeding this limit is the responsibility of the insured.

The company’s liability to compensate for third-party property damage is valid only if the insured or the vehicle’s driver complies with the terms and conditions stated in the insurance certificate.

Comprehensive (Supplementary) Insurance Coverage:
Comprehensive insurance covers and repairs damages to the body of the insured vehicle resulting from collision, overturning, fire, theft, or total loss. The insured is required to pay the accident fee to the insurance company, after which the company is obligated to repair the damage resulting from the accident.

FAQ
What is the difference between comprehensive insurance coverage and third-party liability (unified) insurance coverage?

Comprehensive (supplementary) insurance covers damages to the insured’s own vehicle resulting from a traffic accident, as well as loss or damage caused by accidental collision, overturning, fire, lightning, explosion, spontaneous combustion, or total theft.

Third-party liability insurance is a basic and legally mandatory coverage. It covers death and bodily injury to any third party, as well as material damages caused by the use of the insured's vehicle.

How is my insurance premium calculated?

The insurance premium is calculated based on the vehicle's type of registration according to the Insurance Controller’s tariff. For private vehicles, the unified insurance is calculated based on engine capacity; for commercial vehicles, it is based on weight and usage; and for taxis, it is based on the number of passengers and drivers.
